Could you please write what you teach and how many hours of homework you typically assign each week? I am wondering how the amount I assign compares with others and if it's reasonable. Most teachers at my school seem to give little to none, which I'd like to confirm is below standards. Thanks.

hst@yahoo.com I have taught AP Bio on a year long schedule and never felt it necessary to load on homework. In fact, the opposite might have been true. I gave study guides for units, and it was up to the students to work on them. Those who did so typically performed better than the others. Rural school I am in a small, rural, high-poverty school. We do have both extremes, though--highly motivated and better-off financially as well as those who are unmotivated, poor home situations, etc.
