I was wondering if there are any high school English teachers out there who have an extremely effective bell work routine that helps to get their students engaged and working upon entering the classroom. Also, any suggestions for posting/dispersing work from previous days to students who were absent? Currently, my students crowd around my desk and ask what they missed at the start of the class period. I want a routine that will require students to become more proactive and know how/where they can retrieve their missed work without taking away from class time.

Thank You!
