how does your school deal with students who come late to school or show up late to class? Currently if a student is late to school or class they are assign to a 30 minute detention on the same day. If a student is unable to stay after school the are offered the opportunity to serve the detention in the office during their lunch or in the morning. This method is not working for our school and we are looking for a better solution? Our school is a junior senior high school grades 7-12 in a small district Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

A We use that same system (well, actually, they can choose to stay today OR tomorrow -- but that's IT -- we really hold their feet to the fire on this one). It works great for us.

Perhaps your school isn't enforcing it consistently?
