    The teacher next door does something similar to what you are
    describing. She teaches HS math. Each student has a file
    folder. Inside the file folder, they tape notecards with all
    the relevant information for each unit. They have
    one "column" for each unit. Then they can flip through them
    as they study. She has done this for several years. I think
    that the kids like it because they get to decorate their
    folder and their notecards as they make them.

    I think that she really likes this system.
