Re: Administrators changing seniors grades!
Posted by Rodeo on 5/15/08

Yes, I have experienced this. It was a regular practice at
the school I worked at in San Diego Unified School District.
It is infuriating. It made me feel like why do I even bother
trying to give grades that reflect their effort and
proficiency. I am so sorry that you have to deal with this.

I don't know about your state, but it is illegal in
California. However, it is hard to prove and usually you
will be fighting a losing fight if you try to do anything
about it. I wish I had some advice for you. I don't. Nobody
cares. Maybe somebody should start a state proposition for a
law that would have a specific investigative agency in the
event of such things and specific consequences for
principals and counselors that are involved in this grade
tampering because the current system does not work.
