Kids don't fool around if teachers and the administration is visible. And so for the most part just get to class. Whenever possible I try and stand out in the halls during pass periods. It gives me a chance to connect with kids, greet them at the door, and hurry along those kids still dawdling as the bell is getting ready to ring.
