The problem arises however when they begin shooing the students who are talking to their teachers while waiting for the bell to ring. This year I think I'm going to tell my students to head directly inside. Then I imagine I'll have to worry about what they are doing while I'm outside. We have a thorough tardy policy, so it seems silly to me to rely on proding when the discipline policy is in place. Having administration as back-up only works if they are not undermining the faculty and interfering with student teacher relationships. I suppose I should be thankful for the availability of my princial and deans, but sometimes I feel they tend to create friction in students who feel annoyed by being reminded before the fact.
