Re: Second year in a row!
    Posted by Rebecca on 8/21/08

I really wish that there was adequate staff in schools to better
support all students (those with IEPs and those without) but the
fact of the matter is that there just isn't in most schools.
Counselor positions are being cut while enrollment is increasing.
Class sizes are just going up. Special ed teachers have larger
caseloads (and don't work during the summer). When I look at the
sheer numbers of students any one student has to work with, I
can't blame them for not making sure every student gets what
he/she needs. There just aren't enough hours in the day. So
until schools can pay enough staff to fully support students,
parents are going to have to follow through and politely remind
    staff of specific needs.
