Post: Feeling defeated...
My students have just worn me down (I teach 9th grade
English). They don't want to do anythign and have no
interest in learning. I try to do fun activities, but
there are too many of them and they are too inmature to
handle it. Then we do book work, and they don't do that
either. I try to have them watch a movie while reading,
they dont' do that either. I ask them to stop talking, and
they fuss at me, and then I send them out. I send out over
10 students a day and am just so tired of trying to help
them and them being so disrespectful in return. A lot of
them are repeaters (2nd and 3rd time in English 9!) and are
bored with the repeat of material. I have no idea what to
do with them and I know I have to at least make it until
June. Any ideas would be helpful...
