If I had a dollar for every time someone in education stood before us
and told us that 'research shows' or 'studies have shown' I would be
rich. Studies have been used to justify everything, many things wacky
and detrimental. I don't think the current system evolved to be in the
best interests of students because studies and research showed that it
was optimal for student learning and achievement. There are other
reasons in school, business, society, and government why we do things
the way we do. It's time to offer the choice to parents and
communities.
