Ode to An Oldie
You're older than the whole first grade's ages when we add them Also older than the 4th grade's test scores We know, 'cause we just had them.
And with age has come wisdom You've been "around the block" By now you've seen and heard it all-- Nothing is a shock.
That long awaited day in life has finally arrived Your retirement is almost here, and miraculously, YOU SURVIVED!
You've lived to tell the stories of a lot of "special" kids, A few of them who warmed your heart, And a few who never did.
When you're gone, you'll leave a legacy And we'll talk about you here, So if you miss us like we miss you Please come on back--and volunteer!
