I remember reading this article in the mid-1980's. I thought it was
hilarious, but I did not know who the original author was. It was
distributed through a network of dial-up Bulletin Board Services
running on peoples' home computers.

Thank you for posting the article with the author's name included. I
now know that it was written by Dave Barry, and I now know who to look
for at the book store. Fantastic!
