For years I taught Special Ed at the secondary level. I used
anything and everything that qualified as fun to read. The
best was comics, especially like Beetle Bailey, Garfield,
etcetera. The cartoons add contextual meaning to help
figure out unknown words & to keep it interesting (hence
motivational).
