Sounds wonderful. Let us know how it goes!
My school had an "evening" tea for mothers and daughters at
our little local community center
As the moms, grandmas and girls entered the building, they
went to tables containing straw hats, glue guns on power
strips, and every kind of decoration you could think of to
attach.
We served a free dinner (sandwiches, fruit, chips, water).
We had a corner spot with an old piano, little table, lace
tablecloth, teapot & cups. I was the official
photographer... got some great shots. The school paid for
the processing, so we did not charge for this. People who
were not decorating hats or eating would wander over for
their pictures.
After dinner, we had a "Hat Parade" around the center with
50's music playing. It got a little crazy... The school
secretary, who was volunteering at the event said, "You'd
never experience a tea like this in England!"
I believe this will continue on as an "All School" event.
I think your intimate tea may be more refined and intimate
than the one we put on.
