Re: Costumes for Gingerbread Man

Hi, I don't know if you have my play or not, since you are
using the non-musical version, but there are suggestions for
costumes in it that are reasonably easy to make. We used
sweatpants for just about all of the animal costumes, along
with headbands with ears for the hats. They were made out of
felt. The Gingerbread Man wore sweatpants and a sweatshirt
that were white when purchased but then dyed a light brown
color. We put red pom poms on the front with safety pins and
added some red rickrack to the edges. A Santa cap finished
it off, but we have also used a red beanie (like a painter's
french beanie.)
The bears wore black sweatpants and sweatshirts, and
headbands that were actually black earmuffs worn up high.
The tail was just a black sock stuffed with cotton and safety
pinned on. The fox wore a red blanket sleeper with a red
sock tail pinned on and a headband made out of red felt with
triangle ears. The tail had a white tip painted on the end
of it. There are some pictures on my website, I think. Heidi
