Re: ideas of philosophy of education HELP

At my school, my principal (who is utterly amazing and my
husband thought I was in love with him(not really but called
him my bf for the first year he came-as did other teacher's
dh's as they were thrilled too) because when he came I was
so thrilled(and still am) with his whole approach and turn
around of the school and the slacker teachers in it-got
quite a few to retire/quit! So anyway, he uses "Keeping it
R.E.A.L." as our teacher motto. Relationships (so
incredibly important-kids, parents, community, teachers
between one another and across groups), expectations (what
they are and why we have them established clearly for all
and high ones at that-focus on professional/formal), active
engagement (how can you not have that in K??), and focus on
learning (hitting those standards). That about sums up my
philosopy very nicely. Maybe that can help you.
