    I moved to first grade (twice actually). I think it is an easy
    transition. You will need mainly the same books. I discouraged
    my first graders from reading chapter books (hard on their
    eyes, slows down their fluency, harder to build their
    comprehension skills). I did read aloud a chapter book after
    lunch but you can get those from the library. You need the
    same math manips. I looped with my kids so I changed up the
    helper chart,etc. My bulletin boards were usually just
    highlighting the kids' work. You should go visit your first
    grades now to see how they look and get some ideas. I also
    spent the summer online looking at some fabulous first grade
    websites. Have fun!
