Post: Liz In CA...question about a previous post of yours

I would love to chat w/you about what you are doing in
your class that is whole group and allows you to hit all
the levels and get your children so strong in reading.
Could you tell me more here or email me
cmarlow@sdepl.ucsd.edu things you do for reading support
in your day and how much time you spend on them each day
and the basic parts to it and the materials you have that
supports such a program. We are expected to teach guided
reading and be very direct w/our reading instruction but I
am very curious about your way of teaching reading. I
teach in a very low income area and the majority of my
kids turned five in the summer or later (8 after we began
school), so they are very immature and still don't
understand that they must look when they read and so much
more, but I am always looking for ways to boost their
reading each year because the pool just seems to get lower
    and lower ever year. Thanks
