When they built our new K wing nobody asked the teachers what
they wanted/needed so be very glad that you are able to be
    involved in the process.

The great thing they did was put a nice big store room between
the 2 rooms and put up floor to ceiling metal shelves to store
all of our "stuff". We have tons of storage in the room, in
fact too much and it takes up all of our wall space. They put in
large shallow drawers that I thought were a huge waste but they
are great for storing large or long things like chart paper, big
books, large bulletin board pieces, etc. We only have 1 window
and it's above the counter for the computers so we have to climb
up on the counter to open the window. Between the 2 rooms is a
bathroom that is shared. It's hard for 48 children to use one
bathroom so I stop at the community bathroom after lunch so we
don't drag the bathroom thing out all afternoon and risk an
accident. I wish it would have had 2 stalls or been 2 smaller
bathrooms rather than 1 huge one. After they finished the rooms
they came in and removed some of our white boards and mounted a
Smartboard, which I love. Unfortunately they mounted too high
for the kids to use it easily and because they did it after the
fact, we now have about 12" of wall on either side which is
useless. If you are getting a smartboard, try to get it mounted
when the room is built or at least have them leave just the right
    amount of room for it
