Post: Library Woes - Advise Needed!!

One of my weekly centers is our classroom Library, which I
have tried to make visually appealing, comfortable, and
baskets of books by subject.
There are 3-4 students at a time, chairs for all. Problem:
The majority do not sit and read/look at books. They throw
pillows (took those out),play around and are generally
disruptive. Centers are 20-30 minutes.
I assign a parent volunteer when available but this is not
often. Any advise?? It is my favorite part of our
classroom so am disappointed they do not seem to want to be
there!
