One of the activities we started last year at our school was
taking the vocabulary from the books we use and finding
pictures on google images and gluing them on poster board for
each book with the definition and word. We laminated them
and keep adding to our collection this year. Eventually we
should have all the books. The kids act out vocabulary and
come up with actions that symbolize each word that they need
to know. We also printed out pictures that symbolize math
vocabulary and hung them up all over the school. We started
vocabulary journals that they keep during the year with
drawings and those are moved along to the next grade level
each year. We have science and language arts journals.
