The other day a little guy said to another child, I think you can do
that, you can do all sorts of things I can't do. I watched you at
recess! The other little guy returned the positive with,"Oh that
ball stuff, I've been practicing with my big brother at home...we
could practice together!"
I also have a child who spoke and understood only Chinese, they all
are so very uplifting to him! They cheer every time he says a new
word or phrase in English.
In writing, a little girl said she wished she could make y's like
that to which the other little girl replied she "would teach her
but, it does take lots of practice! I used to be bad at it, now I'm
good at it!"
I use "bucket filling" in the classroom so I'm always giving
positive feedback for them giving positive feedback. :)
