I need your help with holiday craft ideas for all of the
kids.
This year, even after my class size was reduced from 31 to
22 (NOT as great as I thought it would be...rather
emotionally painful) I have a very diverse class with many
religions: Christians (including several very vocal Jehovah
Witnesses), Muslims, Jews, Hindis and Buddhists.
As a public school teacher, it has always been my practice
to honor and celebrate diversity. I am finding it quite
difficult this year to do that with all of the factions.
I usually make those wonderful snowmen balls using fingers
and paint but, I'm concerned this year about making them.
Parents really look forward to them if they've had siblings
in my room.
Do you think it would be inappropriate to do them? (It is
on a Christmas ball, after all.) I was thinking it would be
okay along with a picture frame and their first day of K
picture but, I am afraid I could be missing the bigger
picture and offend someone.
I need your help, my friends! What's your opinion?
