Has anyone pointed out to him the great difference between his
writing at home and at school? Sit down with him and point it
out and ask him - why do you think you're writing is so
different?
And then - don't you want your work at school to reflect your
real abilities. Give him his paper only at the moment he
absolutely needs it. Does he have a 'fidget'? We
have 'fidgets' here for those kids who benefit from it.
I have to say in my many years of teachingn I've never seen a
child whose handwriting was so dramatically different when
done at home - unless someone is doing for them. But there's
always a first time.
I would provide him with a thick-barreled pencil or a sharpie
marker with a roller ball point - either of those can really
help the child who's having trouble with writing.
