Snack time to reading groups is a hard transition for them to
make. Can they eat snack as one of their centers so they
only have a specific amount of time to eat and go to the
bathroom before the time is up and they have to move to the
next center? Trying to get 20+ children to the bathroom (I
assume you have only 1) takes a long time but breaking up so
that only a few are going at a time will be more manageable.
I have my kids go during language centers if they are not
with me. After lunch we stop at the hall bathroom where I
can send 3 boys and 3 girls in at a time so it takes only a
few min. and everyone has a chance to go.
