In my middle school library, I have sometimes used it as a preliminary source when I am in a one-to-one situation with a student. In particular, I teach the students to look at the citations at the bottom of the entry to see if there is anything they can use.
My concern with wikipedia is the same as most other teacher- librarians. Anything that can be changed by anybody is a concern.
