Post: need some advice about possible new position

Posted by K teacher on 4/26/08

I'm currently teaching K, have been for 6 years. I have my
reading license as well. I'm interviewing next week for a
new position (different district) that is 1/2 library 1/2
reading AIS. The school is only 1st and 2nd grades. I'm
not worried about the reading part, more concerned with
the library. As far as I know, the students don't borrow
books or use card catalogs or anything. It's a small
library-basically I'd be teaching diffrent classes, more
like a prep teacher than "real" librarian (if that makes
sense). What types of lessons do you normally do with your
whole group. I'm assuming that question would come up
during the interview. I'm thinking I'd so author studies,
genre studies, maybe build upon themes the classroom
techers may be working on... am I on the right track? Any
advice would be soooo appreciated. Thanks.
