I also have coloring sheets, puzzles, etc. for the students
forgetting to bring in their book. The only problem with this is
more students "forget" just so they can color or play with the
puzzles. Now they have to sit quietly at the table with nothing to
do but watch classmates check out books. If they bother others or
move from the table they have to stay a couple of minutes longer
when their class leaves. Luckily, they go to recess and no one
wants to miss that.
