I am going to tell you what the Duties and Responsiblities
are and that I might give you a good picture:
Broadcast-run school morning annoucements on intercom or
closed circuit
Media Lessons, complete with lesson plans for students K-5
w/o teachers input
Go to classrooms to teach lessons or repair TV's or help set
up equipment
Publicity, make sure your school gets on the county website,
on the news or in the newspaper
Lunch or bus duty (even though it shouldnt happen it does)
Audio equipment inventory -Keep track of all the TV's and the
cords that go with them
Budgeting - purchase books and equipment for school
Book Fairs usually 2 sometimes 3 a year
Taking pictures and taping PTA's and events
Correspsonding to staff regularly - via newsletters, emails
or websites
Encouraging the staff to come to the Media Center via book
days, storytellers or email about classes
Shelving books
Keeping Media Center clean
Coming Up with Discipline plan for students while in Media
Center
Moving equipment, tables and chairs frequently (believe it or
not)
Setting up for Staff meetings, LCD ready, chairs and tables
look appropriate, cleaning up afterwards, Stopping people
from eating in the Media Center
The Copy Room - replenishing paper, laminating things and
changing laminating film
Having supplies handy like staplers, markers and pens
Watching kids for teachers in meetings
Attend Media County meetings
Storytime
"loan" out the media center space and keep up with who asked
for the space on what day
