I am debating between to programs that will allow me to
obtain media specialist certificatiion. The first program
is a traditional program located at Univ. of SC. The
degree is a MLIS with the option of obtaining media
specialist certification. The other option is Cambridge
College located in Augusta, GA. It is an accelarated
program and you receive a M.ED degree with the major being
library teacher. I showed this program to the state dept
and they said they will accept the program. The advice I
am asking is which would you think would be a better
degree in the long run? Do you think schools will look
negatively upon a media specialist who doesn't hold a
MLIS? Some additional info I am already a certified
special ed teacher looking to change areas. Please give
your input or advice.
