    what if you were to tell her you were starting a new pilot
    program where students picked one book on their AR level that
    they would take a quiz on etc. THEN they are allowed to
    pick one book of THEIR choice. The choice book will be
    allowed to be taken home with them to be read on their own
    time. The AR book should stay at school to be read on the
    teachers time.

    Or just plain tell her students are allowed two books. One
    that will satisfy the teacher and one they can pick for
    themselves.

    Unfortunately some of us can be just as stubborn as some of
    the teachers!!! And we even say it with a smile!
