Re: Lesson plan idea for book"A Child Called It'
Posted by to Kristy on 10/06/07

I am reading a book called, Schooled, to my students. They are
loving it!! It is a novel about a hippie-child who has been forced
to go to public school while his caregiver recovers from an injury.
He is in 8th grade and is immediately picked on and bullied, yet his
gentle spirit ends up winning everyone over in the end. It is a
great lesson for students in that age group who think so highly of
image, that sometimes the true character of a person is overlooked.
