I would think you are looking more for diagrams and other
scientific type information at this grade level.

There are some nice plant books that are appropriate for that
age level....I often find them by just browsing (lots of
times at SAMS)

Are you familair with The Tin Forest---it makes an
environmental statement through a read aloud

....but often time you will find a few pages within a science
type book devoted to the plants...that is the nature
of "reading science" books...reading science is different and
the skills for reading science is specific
