I am considering getting my masters in administration from the Lamar Univ. Education Partnership, which is the on-line program. Has anyone ever done this and what has been your experience? I have three children (2, 3yrs. 8 mos., and 8 years old) and I am really worried that I won't be able to handle it all. However, I feel like it is something that I need to do soon in order to get me where I would like to be. I love being in the school setting, the energy, etc., but I feel like it is time for me to move away from teaching in the classroom. Any advice is appreciated.

V. Riley I won't post everything I have gone through with Lamar, but if to do it over again, I would choose a traditional graduate school rather than Lamar.

It's been a nightmare. And I'm not just talking about the amount of BS work I put into the classes (it felt like they gave you bust work to justify the grades), but the curriculum felt like it ...See More

V. Riley After pulling my hair out once again over this "program" tonight, I think I am going to file an ethics complaint. I doubt it will go anywhere, but at what point does gross incompetence qualify as an ethics violation? What about completely ignoring a student? What about lying to a student?

I guess I'll just tell Ethics Point my whole story ...See More

aggie'swife erhaps it is the program you are in? I work with a teacher that is about to finish up her master's degree (which includes the admin cert.) and is considering adding the superintendent certification. She seems very happy with her on-line courses.

Dissatisfied Student Welcome to Lamar, there Graduate programs in person are just as bad and as unhelpful. I felt that my professor were trying to run me off the moment I got there. Also the chair of the dept. would never speak to or greet me. I felt like an unwanted student. I would recommend anyone to any college or university, but Lamar. I will not finish here becau...See More
