I won't post everything I have gone through with Lamar, but if
to do it over again, I would choose a traditional graduate
school rather than Lamar.
It's been a nightmare. And I'm not just talking about the amount
of BS work I put into the classes (it felt like they gave you
bust work to justify the grades), but the curriculum felt like
it was slapped together at the last minute.
Currently, I have been working with Lamar on an issue since June
of 2009. The director of the program stopped returning my e-
mails and phone calls, so I had to take my complaint to State U.
I am still waiting to hear back on my issue, but I think it's
going to be resolved.
After dealing with the people who are in charge of this program,
I have serious doubts. My internship portfolio was set up a year
late. E-mails were so horribly mangled that I didn't know what
was being said. I found myself repeating myself over and over
because my questions weren't getting answered - I just kept
getting refered to the FAQ on the web page. After I caught one
representative in a lie in September, all correspondence stopped.
My new motto: You get what you pay for.
I feel like I need to take this complaint to an outside source,
but I don't know where to start. BBB? A state organization?
I'm not saying all on-line programs are bad, but Lamar Academic
Partnerhship is bad news.
