Post: PACT Test

Posted by kate on 5/13/08

    Hello all,
Need some quick advice. Today was the first day of PACT
testing for my son's school. He had been nervous about
this test for months now, and I am always trying to
convince him that the test will be okay and he'll be okay,
but he's totally freaking out. He's eight years old and
can't seem to get over this test. He tossed and turned all
night and woke up this morning with a stomach ache; he
couldn't eat anything this morning. His teacher has been
stressing the test a lot to the students and want them to
score high. So I spoke with her and let her know that my
son is very upset and is constantly complaining about
scoring "high enough." In order words, I wanted her to
stop pressuring the kids everyday about scoring "high
enough." How do I help my son to not be scared about
    taking the PACT?
