Thank you all for the input. I have already taught SRT and right
triangle trig. It was a full chapter in our text, so the students
are very familiar with opposite, adjacent, hypotenuse, finding the
sine, cosine, tangent, angle measure, etc. We've use 30-60-90 and
45-45-90 regularly in finding area of polygons, so they are pretty
confident in those skills.
My plan is to go over the SRT with a hypotenuse length of 1 and
labeling the legs (both in radical form and as a sin/cos). Then I
will introduce the unit circle starting with 0, 90, 180, etc. Then
I'll show the 45, 135, etc. and finally the 30, 60, 120, etc.
On the second day, we will discuss radian measurement and review
the circle with the new information.
