    Post: dysfunctional hiring practices

Posted by they can take their job and put it where the sun don't... on 5/20/08

I can't believe the unprofessional way that many schools
conduct themselves with prospective teachers. And then
they wonder why they can't get teachers. High Tech High
International in San Diego posted a one sentence ad on
Craigslist saying that they need a math/physics sub to
begin immediately and work until June 20th.

No further information. If you call them, they will not
answer one single question about the job. They say to turn
in an application. Do they really think a math or physics
qualified person is going to be beating down their door to
sub last minute for them without any information about
what classes they will be teaching or what their
    responsibilities are going to be.

Do they want the sub to take over all of the grading for
the students for the term as well as lesson planning and
everything else a contracted teacher would be doing. And
all for lousy sub pay which could be as low as $80 before
    taxes.

My idea for them: Pog mo thoin!!
