Post: Intervention in a block class (8th grade)

Posted by Math Mommy on 7/02/08

I will be teaching 8th grade math this coming year in a 90
minute block. I have 4 students coming to me who did not
pass our state standards last year and several others who
barely passed. Since I am teaching a 90 minute block I
want to implement some type of intervention with these
students. My idea is to pull these students and work with
them either one on one or in a small group with the
objectives they missed last year. My main question is what
to do with the other 20 students in class. I need
something that they would be able to work on independently
with out my help but I also don't want it to be so obvious
that I am pulling select students. Any suggestions?
