Re: teaching math vocab

The LA teacher in my school awards EC points if the students
find vocab words in books. As I read different books I've
occasionally come across math words. This year I'm going to
give it a go. The EC won't amount to much, but it's nice
that the students will connect what they're reading with
math. I had a couple students suggest it to me last year so
this year I'm going to do it.
As for reg vocab, I teach it within my lesson and try to
bring it up as much as possible in other lessons. It takes
a conscience effort, but the more I do it, the better I
get.
