I am in my third year of teaching 7th grade math and I have
my first CTT (inclusion class) this year. I am really
struggling with them, they have the worst attitudes toward
eachother, and me at times, they are always arguing with
one another and very little work gets done. The class is 23
students, about 6 of them finish their work very quick, the
others take 30 min to do 10 min worth of work. I've tried
sitting the faster kids with eachother so I could give them
extra work when they finish but some "can't see from the
back", or they "dont like who they are sitting with", so
they're all just mixed up again. They are draining all of
my energy and by friday 7th and 8th periods when I have
them for a double period, I feel so defeated and
discouraged... and it is only October.
