I have a team who will score the work several candidates using a rubric with a rating of 1,2,3,or 4. The rubric has three different sections to be scored. Question: Is there ever a time when you would look at each section, allow each scorer(8) to share their rating, and then average the rating for the section? Once averages have been collected for each section, then add all the averages together to get the total? What's the advantage to getting the averages for each section and then adding to get the total vs. collecting each raters score and simply totaling by section then overall?
