I was telling him about how difficult the classes were. I finally had to put the desks back into traditional rows. He said that his classroom is traditional rows, but when it is group work, they move the desks. However, they practice how to do it quickly and quietly. He said that the first time they try to do it, he always finds fault with what they did so they don't do whatever activity he had described for them. He also told me that those students who were abusing materials were not allowed to use them during the class and were given a worksheet. He also has them set their desks in groups for math art projects and makes one person in each group responsible for keeping track of the crayons, markers etc. What refinements would you make here?
