Information that comes 'in confidence' is information that
didn't come to you at all. What does this parent want? And -
who knows if the parent is right or not? Why leap to
assumptions based on this e-mail that asks you to keep in 'in
confidence'?
Why did they send it to you if they want you to do nothing
with it??
You're playing with fire and with a colleague's fire at that
and for what? A wacky e-mail? It's not 'information' - it's
hearsay at best and it's unfounded rumor at worst if you
start talking about it to anyone.
Is the kid doing ok in your class? Answer the parent "thanks
always for staying in touch. I enjoy teaching John - he's a
very nice young man."
