I have a 32 mac cart in my room that I have 7th and 8th
graders on. No they do not take them home. I teach social
studies and I support the Language Arts and Science classes
on the computers. Students learn so quickly to use the
laptops. The intense research available to them has really
been beneficial to their ability to synthesize information.
They create wonderful projects that are cross discipline. They
learn skills that will benefit them in their futures.
My son also has a macbook and is in a 1:1 program. He started
last year in 6th grade and it has really made him a computer
whiz as well as being leaps over his other 7th grade peers
not in the 1:1 program. Cost is 100 percent mine, district
lets us make monthly payments with insurance. Good program
