You don't really want their support though, do you? You just
want to get off the phone and mark the box 'parent contacted'
you say. So say that. Why ask for their support if you don't
want it?
Say it's just a courtesy phone call so they know you're
writing up their child for cheating. Say thank you and hang
up.
If all you want to fulfill the requirement of 'contacting
them', I guess some of them pick up on that and on your
eagerness to get off the phone. Do you really think such an
attitude can get their support?
There's no way to get someone to support you when all you
really want is to have made some official contact but real
communication is the farthest thing from your mind.
