    Hi there,

I live in the USA but I thought I would share my experience
    with you.

I have completed my training with NAMC in March of 2008 and
was offered a position as a Primary teacher in a school who
hired AMI teachers exclusively for the last 35 years! On top
of that, I live in Portland where AMI training is offered so
a lot of AMI graduates also applied for this position I got
with my NAMC training. What I am trying to say is that it is
very possible to get a job after doing this program.

Now, what gets me very frustrated is these so-called "AMI
teachers" use non- Montessori material and method in their
classroom (they use flashcards in a competitive way and
interrupt the 3-hour work period to send children to another
    room for language class).

That said, NAMC suggests that you start with an assistant
position in order to learn the ropes. They offers a great
training and their staff is always available to quickly
answer any questions you may have.

Someone mentioned that an NAMC graduate felt she did not have
a good understanding of the "Montessori way". To that I
would suggest that anyone doing a Montessori training should
do some reading about it, even though it is not part of the
    NAMC curriculum.

    Good luck to you!
