Post: Looking for work in the US
Posted by: IceNine on 6/29/09
Hi everyone, I've been away from this board for a couple of
years, and it's great to be back!
I put my details up here four years ago and was completely
inundated with job offers, so here's hoping for the same
again. :) I'm male, English, 36, I did the 3-6 Montessori
training at Montessori Centre International in London, but
did not sit the final exams, as my mother got very ill, so I
prioritised accordingly. I accepted a great job in Japan
with an American Montessorian and had a beautiful time, then
took these last two years raising and homeschooling young
children and now tutoring teenagers in Australia.
Right now, I am getting a feel for the market. I would love
to commit to a school long term (Japan and Australia have
involved visa issues so my times hhere have been cut short
sadly). The Montessori method is something which instantly
clicked with my own outlook and philosophy, this recurring
theme in my life of co-creating, i.e. we provide the
environment and the child creates her self. I'm excited
about education, and dedicated to providing quality care and
useful freedom within the classroom.
I'm honest, hardworking, flexible, silly and passionate and
would love to work in a school which valued those qualities.
