My child is having the same issues. It's related to the control
exerted by the teacher, ask to use the bathroom, ask to get up,
ask to sharpen pencil, ask to get water, it destroys the
independence montessori fosters from their first day. It's also
the change to the larger class groups and the noise level which
distracts them from focusing on the work at hand. Public school
appears to be stop and go learning. Start math now, stop after
30 minutes. We all take a different amount of time to build
momentum and get in our learning zone. This momentum is broken
when they have to start and stop learning on the school's
timetable
