Hello Sandy. I am in your same boat. I am teaching a 2/3
split for the first time. I too have little ones at home and
am nervous as can be. I am coming back to teaching after a
    year off with the baby.
Where to start?? I have been told to get your classroom
management skills down. That is the key component to a
effective split classroom. Try and plan out the first month
and how you want your days to run and then take the
    childrens lead from there.
I have been told to try and develop centers (literacy and
math) and intorduce one a day at the begining of the year.
When the children get the hang of them you can set them up
    and teach as you need.
Grade threes do center time while you teach your twos and
    then vice versa.
My twos will leave a little earlier then my threes and that
is when I have been told to squeeze the extra work in for
    the threes then.
So much to do and so little time. I would be very interested
an any sites you find and I in return will send you what I
can find. Best of luck and maybe we can help eachother out.
